MBI Director Elected to be President of SMB MBI Director Avner Friedman has been elected to be the next President of the Society of Mathematical Biology (SMB). His position in office takes effect as of July/August 2007. Here are links to the SMB website and SMB Digest: http://www.smb.org/publications/digest.shtml MBI Short Courses Beginning the Autumn of 2006, the MBI will hold annual short courses in the mathematical biosciences. The courses will last one week and the topic will change from year to year, returning to the original topic every three years. These courses are aimed at graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and college instructors. Background in biology is not required and the only mathematical prerequisite is basic calculus. For more information click on the link below: http://mbi.osu.edu/sciprograms/courses.html Jennings Hall Renovation 2003-2007 The $33.4million Jennings Hall Renovation Project is expected to be completed in May 2007, at which point the MBI will move into 9,100 Assignable Square Feet (ASF) of space, occupying 2/3 of the top floor.
