Frequently Asked Questions About the Summer Program:
1) If I am chosen to be a
participant, who will pay for my expenses?
The MBI will pay for your local expenses such as food, dormitory
lodging, and all program materials. Grants for travel expenses and
some stipends may be available for some participants.
2) What information will
I need to provide in my application?
All applicants need to complete and submit the on-line application
form, provide a vita and a one-page statement describing their background
and interest in the program, and indicate how they hope the program
will benefit their future activities.
Students will need to supply two letters of recommendation.
3) When should I apply?
The deadline for the Summer Program is April 20, 2008.

5) What are the goals of
the program?
We hope that every participant gains an increased appreciation
for how mathematics, statistics, and computer science can address
and resolve problems in biology and medicine. We hope that students
will pursue further study in mathematical biosciences in graduate
school or as postdoctoral fellows. We hope to provide college teachers
with a stimulating research experience and encouragement to incorporate
program materials in their classrooms.
