A permutation encoding of RNA secondary structure

This talk will describe several combinatorial descriptions of RNA secondary structure topologies. I will review some of the older models and describe in detail a new model using permutations. This most recent (permutation) model gives an exact description of the permutations involved, and relates classical statistics on permutations to information on the secondary structures.
