The political discourse in the United States plays out in a number of areas, one of which is television media. We gathered a unique dataset that includes complete text transcripts and descriptive data on speakers from all US-based news programs over a 15 year period in order to understand how this discourse is structured and evolves over time. This talk will discuss the data and collection process before delving into the first results from these novel data, tackling issues ranging from descriptive representation to speaker networks.
