Sebastian Kurtek Appointed MBI Associate Director
We are pleased to announce that Sebastian Kurtek has been appointed MBI associate director.
Sebastian received his BS in Mathematics from Tulane University and his MS and PhD in Biostatistics from Florida State University. He joined the Department of Statistics at The Ohio State University in 2012. He is also a Graduate Faculty member in the Interdisciplinary PhD Program in Biostatistics, as well as an Affiliated Faculty member with the Translational Data Analytics Institute at The Ohio State University. His main research interests include statistical shape analysis, functional data analysis and statistics on manifolds. He is also interested in applying these methods to various types of biomedical data. His research has been funded by the NSF and NIH. He has received several best paper awards at computer vision, pattern recognition and medical imaging conferences, as well as the IMS and AMS Travel Awards.
