Research Area

My research area is interdisciplinary: it is a combination of mathematics, biology and engineering. I am principally interested in applied mathematics, partial differential equations, and inverse problems.

I developed models for cell movements which incorporate different components of the phenomena, such as mechanics and molecular dynamics that have been studied separately, into a single model. In that sense the models can be considered as 'systems biologic' approach. I also formulated model based inverse problems for parameter and unknown function estimation. Neither this system biologic approach nor the inverse problem formulation have been studied previously, in the area of cell motility.
