Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. One of my research interests is in modeling epidemics on networks. Specifically, I model a population as a network and examine how different infection dynamics and network node behaviors impact the course of an epidemic. I am also interested in phylogenetic inference, primarily in the use of nucleotide sequences from multiple loci from several genes in related species to reconstruct the evolutionary history of the species. I am also interested in studying the role of natural selection in the inference of species-level phylogenies.
