One of my research interests is in modeling epidemics on networks. Specifically, I model a population as a network and examine how different infection dynamics and network node behaviors impact the course of an epidemic. I am also interested in phylogenetic inference, primarily in the use of nucleotide sequences from multiple loci from several genes in related species to reconstruct the evolutionary history of the species. I am also interested in studying the role of natural selection in the inference of species-level phylogenies.
